The handbags are carefully handwoven by Balinese artisans, in an old tradition of using the Ata plant. We watched the long process of creating the Ata grass handbags. They are tightly woven and then smoked over a coconut husk fire. So the handbags are beautiful and very sturdy. You will enjoy yours forever. The Jaya handbag is lined inside with traditional Balinese fabric, which has an additional string closure for safety.
